Fatima

In May I watched as Pope Francis led thousands of pilgrims in celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the miraculous apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima. The celebration was wonderful to watch on television, but I wished so much that I could have been there in person. I suspect that you also wanted to be in Fatima to celebrate this special anniversary.

Good news. You CAN be in Fatima for this celebration through the power of prayer. All you have to do is send your petitions to me by August 30. I will see that your petitions are taken to Fatima and lifted up in prayer.

On May 13, 1917 three children were tending sheep at Fatima. After praying the rosary the children suddenly saw a brilliant light. Our Lady appeared holding a rosary. She told the little shepherds that it was necessary to pray often. She returned five times with a message to pray the rosary and offer sacrifices for the conversion of sinners.

At the last apparition, on October 13, with about 70,000 people present, Our Lady told the children that a chapel was to be built there in her honor. After the apparition, all who were present witnessed the miracle promised to the children: the sun could be gazed at without difficulty and whirling like a wheel of fire, it seemed about to fall upon the earth.

"The miracle of the sun" was the first miracle that took place at Fatima. Over the next 100 years, other smaller "miracles" have taken place there. These miracles may not be well-known, but they live in the hearts of pilgrims who have found healing and a deeper faith at this holy site.
